The Lundian’s Handy Shoppers Guide
Here's a shoppers guide for newcomers to this great little city of ours. You will surely have fun shopping here in Lund, and you'll find that you can shop till you drop here too, so who needs New York or London? Have fun.
Banks: There are lots of banks in Lund and there is a complete list in the tourist brochure under the heading "Allmän Information". The Swedish word for bank is, as you might expect, "Bank"
Bike Rental and Repair Shop: Winstrupsgatan 3 (entrance through the court-yard at Knut den Storesgatan 1, next to Gräddhyllan).
Emergencies: Dial 112 for any emergency.
Guides and Guided Tours: Arranged at the Tourist Bureau, 046-35 50 40.
Help: Police: Byggmästaregatan 1. 046-16 50 00
Libraries: Miljöbiblioteket (The Green Library), City Library, S:t Petri Kyrkogata 6. 046-35 59 90; University Library (UB1), Helgonabacken 046 - 222 75 00.
Lost and Found: Police: Byggmästaregatan 1, Lund, 046-16 52 23; trains: 046-20 21 92; InterCityBus 999 and Lund City Bus: 046-14 14 50.
Medical Care: Capio City Clinic, Clemenstorget 5. 046-35 05 15; University Hospital, Getingevägen 4. 046-1710 00.
Post Office: Postal services are provided by supermarkets where the postal logo is displayed. Here you can by stamps, mail packages etc.
Recreation Centers: Ask at the Tourist Office or the International Student Centre about recreation centres.
Stores and shops: Open 10 am- 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 am-1 or 2 p.m. on Saturdays. On the first Saturday of the month, known as "Långlördag", most shops are open until 5 p.m.
Swimming pools: In-door pools: Högevall, City Park, Delfinen (Magistratsv. 55 A). Info: 046-35 52 17, 046-35 52 22. Open-air pools: Källbybadet, Badarevägen, Lund, 046-35 51 88.

Transportation: Trains: Regional trains leaving from the main train station 020-61 61 61; SJ, the Swedish state railway: Check the tourist office or the International Secretariat if you are a student for information about travelling.
